ChatGPT Ads

ChatGPT Ads management: sponsored answers for European B2B and e-commerce

ChatGPT Ads are sponsored cards shown under ChatGPT answers to Free and Go users. OpenAI opened the format to 31 European markets on 24 August 2026 and made self-serve Ads Manager available to EU advertisers from 1 September 2026. APG Agency runs the whole loop: eligibility check, account and advertiser verification, OpenAI Pixel and Conversions API, context-hint bank, creatives and weekly reporting, next to your organic mentions inside the answers.

How a ChatGPT ad works (September 2026)

The ad is placed below the answer in a separate card labelled "Sponsored": logo, headline, short text and a link, with product cards showing price and ratings for e-commerce via a catalogue feed. The ad never changes the answer itself. Being named inside the answer is organic only and belongs to GEO, not to advertising.

Who sees it: Free and Go plans, users aged 18 and over. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans are ad-free. Targeting uses the current conversation and the context hints you write, plus language and country. In the EEA there is no personalisation, no chat history or memory is used, and advertisers receive aggregate reporting only. Sensitive categories such as health and politics are excluded.

Context hints, not keywords

You describe buyer situations in plain sentences, for example "the user is planning a 100 to 300 person company event in Vilnius". The system decides whether the live conversation matches.

Auction buying: CPC or CPM

EUR accounts have a technical minimum of 15 € per day. Relevance of the hint and the creative decides the auction as much as the bid does.

Measured with OpenAI Pixel and Conversions API

A site pixel plus a server-side Conversions API, joined to GA4 so the ChatGPT channel sits next to Google and Meta in one report.

Our 6-step launch, about two weeks from brief to live

  1. Eligibility gate (1 to 2 days): we check that your category is allowed under OpenAI advertising policy, that the landing page meets the requirements and that there is something worth measuring. If it is not a fit, we say so up front.
  2. Account and advertiser verification (3 to 5 days): an advertiser account at ads.openai.com in your company's name, business and payment verification, team invited through Settings and Users. The account stays yours, never the agency's.
  3. Measurement (2 to 3 days): OpenAI Pixel on the site, Conversions API on the server, usually through your existing server-side tracking, conversion definitions and a GA4 join.
  4. Context-hint bank and creatives (3 to 5 days): 20 to 60 hints written from real buyer situations, 3 to 5 creative variants, and a product feed with prices and images for e-commerce.
  5. Launch and weekly cut: creative review on the OpenAI side, a test budget, then a weekly report with impressions, CTR, conversions, cost per result, and which hints work and which we switch off.
  6. Two-layer report: next to the paid card we show how often your brand is mentioned inside the ChatGPT answers themselves, so you can see which layer brings customers and where the next euro should go.

What ChatGPT Ads cost: three separate numbers

One-off setupIncluded in the first month of every packageAccount, verification, OpenAI Pixel and Conversions API, product feed, context-hint bank, first creatives
APG management feeTest 590 € per month · Growth 990 € per month · GEO + Ads 1 490 € per month (excl. VAT)Test: 1 campaign, up to 20 context hints, weekly report, 2-month minimum. Growth: up to 3 campaigns, product feed, A/B creatives, monthly strategy review. GEO + Ads: the paid card plus organic-mention work, reported together

Market reference, September 2026: 2 400 € per month at Agenzy (Vilnius) and 3 000 USD per month at WebFX (US). While Lithuanian and Baltic campaign data is still thin we do not publish average CTR or cost per lead. The first month is a test with a clear hypothesis, not a promise.

What is included in APG ChatGPT Ads management

Eligibility and policy check

Category, landing page and conversion readiness reviewed against OpenAI advertising policy before any money is spent.

Account, verification and billing

Advertiser account in your name, business and payment verification, users and roles, EUR billing to your own card or invoice.

OpenAI Pixel and Conversions API

Site pixel, server-side conversions, deduplication and a GA4 join, installed by the same team that runs our server-side tracking service.

Context-hint bank and creatives

20 to 60 buyer situations written as hints, 3 to 5 creative variants, product feed for e-commerce, and a testing plan for both.

Weekly cut and monthly review

Impressions, CTR, conversions and cost per result every week; hints and creatives switched on and off from data, strategy reviewed monthly.

Organic layer inside the answer

The paid card cannot put you inside the answer text. That is earned work, delivered through our GEO services and reported in the same dashboard.

Who ChatGPT Ads are for, and who should wait

  • E-commerce brands with a product feed, where price and ratings can show directly in the sponsored card.
  • B2B services with a clear buyer situation: events, legal, IT, accounting, logistics, SaaS, where a conversation reveals intent.
  • Brands already measuring conversions on Google and Meta, so a new channel can be compared on cost per result from week one.
  • Companies selling across several European markets that want one context-hint bank in several languages under one account.

Not yet a fit: no clear offer on the landing page, a media budget under 450 € per month, a sensitive category, or no way to track conversions. In those cases we recommend fixing the foundation first, or starting with the organic GEO layer.

ChatGPT Ads: frequently asked questions

Is ChatGPT advertising available in Europe and the Baltics?

Yes. Ads have been shown to users in 31 European markets, including Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, since 24 August 2026. Self-serve Ads Manager opened to EU and EUR advertiser accounts on 1 September 2026, in beta and subject to advertiser verification.

What is the minimum spend for ChatGPT Ads?

The platform minimum for a EUR account is 15 € per day. That is a technical floor, not an effective budget. For a meaningful test we recommend 900 to 3 000 € per month in media plus the management fee.

Can I pay to be recommended inside the answer?

No. The ad sits below the answer and is labelled Sponsored. A mention inside the answer text is earned through organic GEO work: entity clarity, citable evidence and presence in the sources the models trust.

Who sees the ads, and does it use my customers' chat history?

Only Free and Go plan users aged 18 and over. In the EEA the ad is matched to the current conversation, language and country only. No chat history or memory is used, and advertisers see aggregate metrics, never individual conversations.

How are results measured?

Through the OpenAI Pixel on your site and the Conversions API on the server, joined to GA4. You get impressions, clicks, conversions and cost per result weekly, and, in the GEO + Ads package, the organic mention rate for the same prompts next to it.

Related services: GEO services, Google Ads management and server-side tracking installation.
